I took my dog to the Veterinary Trauma Center after trying several of the local vets, and Dr. Stone was able to diagnose my Great Dane with cancer and treat her in time to save her life. The quality and service we received was matched by none of the other veterinarians in town. Wish we’d gone there first!!!

  2. Terry Felder says:

I am so thankful that I discovered Dr. Stone and his veterinary practice! He has gone above and beyond for my dogs and I can’t thank him enough. He absolutely loves animals and he treated my dogs like they were his own. He made me feel calm and explained things to me in terms that I could really understand. There are so many vets out there that only care about making money. Dr. Stone not only offered suggestions to help me save money, but he also spent more time with me and my dogs to learn about them as much as possible. I’ve never had a veterinarian go so far out of his way to help me and my German Shepherds & Yellow Lab. Thank you Dr. Stone for doing what you do!

  3. Cynthia Jacobson says:

Being from a large metropolitan area I am used to my pets receiving the best treatment – I was not finding that type of treatment when I relocated to Central Florida until I found Dr. Stone. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced and such a skilled surgeon. If that isn’t enough he is personable and explains everything in detail. I have three dogs and a kitten and he has helped them all to stay healthy. Now, if I could only find a people doctor for me I liked as well 🙂

  4. Jackie & Bob Rogers says:

We fist met Dr. Stone in 2005 for a second opinion…our small dog had a good sized lump in her groin. We took her to a local Leesburg Vet wasn’t happy with his diagnosis so took her to doctor Stone. He kept her that day and operated the next morning…the surgery was a complete success. In 2008 he also found a bladder stone after an ultra sound…the stone was logged so needed to be removed surgically. Both surgery’s were successful, both times she stayed for 3 days and was treated like his own dogs. So glad we found him would recommend Dr. Stone to anyone.

  5. Kathi Mc says:

Thanks to Dr. Stone our dog Meg is getting her allergy problem under control. This was an issue that other local vets could only refer to a specialist, requiring an unreasonalbe amount of travel time and expense. We’ve been happy with the care that Meg’s received and the informative consultation and instruction that we’ve received in dealing with her issues.

  6. Samantha Seepersad says:

Thanks to Dr. Stone our dog Duncan a golden retriever was able to get relieve from his infection and pain. We had taken him to so many vets but none could diagnosis the problem much less resolve it. I am so happy with the care Duncan receives from Dr. Stone that I would recommend him to every pet owner I know.

Again thank you Dr. Stone for all the care you have taken and given to Duncan, I can not tell you how much it has meant.

  7. Magnificent goods from you, man. I’ve understand your stuff previous to and you are just too magnificent. I really like what you’ve acquired
here, certainly like what you are stating and the way in which you say it.
You make it entertaining and you still take care
of to keep it sensible. I cant wait to read much more from you.

This is really a great web site.

  8. Superb, what a blog it is! This weblog presents useful facts to us, keep it up.

  9. Hello, I enjoy reading through your article post. I like to
write a little comment to support you.

  10. I recommend these folks to everyone I meet. Dr,. Stone handled our emergency on a Sunday and everything turned out very well. His office was just thirty minutes from our home in Windermere and we were glad to find him. Thanks to him our teacup poodle is doing fine and we now have a new Vet for our pet.

  11. Stephen Lannigan says:

We took our dog (lucky – Siberian Husky) to Dr. Stone, after using several of the local vets. Dr Stone actually examined our dog, took the time to explain to us what the process is, gave us options. Our dog had teeth issues and was loosing her hair. He took care of her as if it was his dog. Cleaned and extracted some teeth, byopsies, xrays etc.. Our dog is family, other vets would do well to sit with Dr Stone and learn that. It is not something we can replace. I would ONLY recommend Dr Stone to be you family vet.

  12. Alexandria Medina says:

I have taken my dog to Dr. Stone about 3 times and everytime was a great experierence was great!! My dog had parvo 3 years ago and thanks to Dr. Stone he’s still with us today being his goofy self. I would refer anyone I know to him and have done so a few times. I wouldn’t take any of my pets to any other place other than Dr. Stone

  13. Karl says:

I had been elsewhere on several occasions for a bad skin problem my dog Buster had. We tried a number of sprays, shampoos, and antibiotics. Nothing seemed to help. Dr. Stone showed me a slide presentation about allergy and recommended that we have him tested and he checked Buster’s thyroid level as well. Both tests indicated a problem and we are now on the correct medications. Buster is much more comfortable for the first time in a long time. Buster and I are very grateful.

  14. Tina says:

A friend-Paul found a chihuahua on side of Hwy. 27 believed to be thrown from a car. Had been given bad news about her condition and not much hope for her. Took her to Dr. Stone in Groveland, Fl. hoping for something better. AND we found it! The little dogs name is Fawn of which Paul has decided to keep her. She has a back injury and could not use her hind legs-she was just dragging them. Proud to say thanks to Dr. Stone-Dr. DiFonzo she is now walking!! Highly recommend these 2 Doctors. Do not give up on your pets-Call Dr. Stone…

  15. Joey Eberline says:

We have taken our cats and our dogs to Dr. Stone, and have always been treated courteously and his care of our loved ones has been beyond superb. We owe Dr. Stone for two of our pets’ lives and cannot begin to recommend him more highly. You will not regret taking your pets to his clinic. Thank you, Dr. Stone, for yet another day of wonderful care today!

  16. Cindy Miller says:

Thank you Dr Stone for always being there even by way of long distance to help me with my dog Lillee Belle. You have been her savior on numerous occsions. You and your staff are compassionate, gentle and understanding toward pat and their owner’s needs. We miss having you as our veterinarian. I highly recommend you to anyone with a pet.

  17. Malory says:

Thank you Dr. Stone and staff for your help in an emergency situation. Willing to help save the smallest of life, Dr. Stone and staff truly practice their motto “Pets are People Too.” The office was welcoming and clean, and their practice was very professional. Thank you.

  18. I had an emergency with my pug one night and found the VTC on the internet. Our regular Vet in Orlando was close but Dr. Stone answered my call right away and explained about his service. Very pleased with the care we received.

  19. We live in the Dr. Phillips area but when my cat Fluffers became obstructed and couldn’t pee we needed a Vet right away so we called VTC after finding them on the internet. Sr. Stone showed my husband and me a slide show about FUS and treated us as intelligent clients and we appreciated that. We had to leave our pet for a couple of days but he is thankfully alive an doing well. Thanks to the staff at the Veterinary Trauma and Medical Center.

  20. whoah this weblog is magnificent i love studying your articles. I found out that you really aren’t that far from Orlando when my cat was attacked by a pitbull and we needed a vet for our pet. My daughter was so happy to find out that you would come in on Easter Sunday to take care of her small cat and now she is doing just fine. It took two days for our veterinarian in Orlando to return the message that we left on his answering machine that day. Keep up the great work! You realize, lots of persons are needing your services, you could help them greatly.

  21. Christine Yoder says:

Dr. Stone is the epitome of what a great vet should be. He is not in this for the money, but for the love of animals. He has saved a couple of my dogs over the past few years when they had been bitten by poisonous snakes (the joys of country living) and most recently gave immediate relief to my pup suffering from a wasp sting or insect bite of some sort. Other vets I have used have always tried to run many unnecessary tests (unrelated to my initial visit), and certainly never explain tests or diagnosis as well as Dr. Stone. I have had vets try to shame me into agreeing to tests or procedures, implying that I’m a bad owner if I don’t agree. Dr. Stone understands that we want the best for our pets, and he gives the best, without getting caught up in the latest fads.

  22. Very nice write-up. I absolutely love this website. We live in Windermere and our Vet was closed for the weekend when we found you. I was thankful to be able to get our dog taken care of when she got bitten by a snake in our back yard. Thanks for being there when we needed you. Continue the good work!

  23. Kevin Huston says:

My family had a problem on a Sunday and called around. Most everyone was closed or wanted to send me to another clinic at the other end of the county. Dr. Stone took his phone call in person and drove in to help. We couldn’t have found a better place.

  24. Tom Lloyd says:

I talked to and interviewed over a half dozen vets before deciding on Dr. Stone to repair my large dog’s torn ACL.

Dr. Stone was thorough in explaining the procedure and it turned out that he is also something of a post-op innovator! Veterinary Trauma Center in Groveland was the only facility I spoke with that offered post-op PHYSICAL THERAPY as part of its surgical package..

(Think about it. If you had a major knee operation, wouldn’t you expect physical therapy to assist your recovery?)

Surgery was just two weeks ago and already my trusty hound is moving well and putting his full weight on the injured leg.

    Tom Lloyd

  25. Niki says:

I had been to see Dr. Stone years ago on an emergency and was pleased with the service received. Somehow I didn’t realize they were also a daytime practice so I went elsewhere for care. When my dog was sick a couple of years later I got several different opinions before returning to the VTC. Am Glad I did and would recommend them for anyone’s sick pet.

  26. Emma says:

Dr. Stone is very knowledgeable and caring. His receptionist Cheri seems very compassionate.

  27. Percy says:

I would highly recommend the Veterinary Trauma and Medical Center. They are not the cheapest place around but are very thorough.

  28. Rajeev says:

I called around for an ACL surgery and most other vets wanted to refer me out of country. The Veterinary Trauma and Medical center did the procedure and my dog is doing very well.

  29. Agnes says:

It seemed to me Dr. Stone was very committed to making sure we understood every step of what was involved in caring for our pet. I was impressed with his computer slideshow presentation as well.

  30. Dahlia says:

Was happy with the care we received for our cat Whisky, Highly recommend them.

  31. Dante says:

Very good service and personal attention.

  32. Michael says:

Absolutely the best choice! They even helped us get Pet Insurance to cover the cost of the surgery. If you need a vet then Dr. Stone is an awesome choice.

  33. Felix says:

Very pleased with our experience there. Would highly recommend it.

  34. Remy says:

The doctor came in to meet us at 3am while my regular Vet was on vacation. Our Boxer Butch would have been dead if it had not been for the veterinary trauma center. thank you!

  35. Maxwell says:

Dr. Stone and staff are first rate. Happy with service received.

  36. Walter says:

Very professional and took the time to explain everything in complete detail.

  37. Very pleased with the professional and compassionate care and the spotless facility. So happy that we are allowed to accompany out dogs for exams and shots (we went to one vet where the dogs were taken in back without the owner). We know our 4 dogs are in good hands here.

  38. Jeneice Mozisek says:

Our dog, Dakota, decided to supply us with a different kind of excitement this past July 4th by running into a sapling tree strap. The result of the collision was a deep gash on her armipt. Dr Stone graciously told us to come in and he would patch up our girl. He was very proficient and took time with us and answered the numerous questions we had. Thanks to him our baby is healthy and well. We highly recommend his services if you ever find yourself in need… Thank you so much Dr Stone

  39. Bret and Shannon says:

The first time we used Dr. Stone was to fix our cat, Ripley. He was very professional and genuine, which we loved. Since then, we’ve called him numerous times about our other pets, and each time he’s been very gracious and patient with us, answering all of our questions knowledgeably and thoroughly. Just last night, we brought in our dog, Nike, who had an allergic reaction to his heartworm medication. It was late and after hours, but Dr. Stone met us at the clinic, and was more than welcoming while he examined and treated Nike for the swelling. He has been great with our family and would love to recommend him for all of your veterinary needs. Thank you Dr. Stone!

  40. Mrs. Steve Stipanovich says:

Dr. Stone is the most knowledgable, professional, considerate, compassionate and intelligent doctor I have ever met. He has performed emergency surgery on one of our cats, diagnosed and corrected an equilibrium problem in another, and treated a third cat for an eye infection. Each time, he has taken the time to explain the condition and treatment in complete detail. His facility is immaculate, yet very homey. Instead of traumatizing your pet, you feel like you are bringing her to visit a friend. Actually, in a way, you are. Thank you, Dr. Stone. You are a gem.

  41. Hanna Callahan says:

Found a kitten, less than 4 weeks old, with a hernia the size of a golf ball. Dr. Stone successfully did surgery on her and she is a kitten of joy. Thank you Dr. Stone!

  42. Anna Stebbins says:

Back in 2007 we were coming to the Clermont, FL area for the winter when our 1 yr old Golden Doodle, Sebastian, had a severe drooling problem. All the way from MI to FL we saw vet after vet in state after state and were so worried about him. He would not eat and barely drank. We saw a vet in Bushnell who did not know what the problem was, but he was kind and set us up with Dr. Stone. We saw Dr. Stone the next day and it turned out Sebastian only had a cracked tooth and the drooling stopped. We have been going to Dr. Stone for all of Sebastian’s, and now Toy Poodle, Samantha, and our 2 cats now as we have permanently moved here to FL. Sebastian broke his Rt. Rear knee tendon and could not walk at all. Dr. Stone fixed him up so well you would not know he was even a broken dog. We love you Dr. Stone. We have had 2 other vets here for yearly care but there is no vet like Dr. Stone so we go to him now for everything. He is so wonderful. Thank you for being such a caring and wonderful Vet! Annie and Jordan.

  43. clairehilliard says:

Last year our dog Daisy was diagnosed with bladder stones, Dr. Stone successfully did the surgery – but because we were trying to cut costs we elected not to test the stones. Dr. Stone prescribed us Daisy’s new dog food and off we went. Turns out, he tested the stones on his own dime and called me to let me know the makeup of the stones actually required a different prescription dog food. I guarantee that no other vet in central Florida would have gone above and beyond like Dr. Stone did. His integrity solidified our loyalty. We will be with him and his office for life!

  44. Jan Gutowski says:

WOW! This is the place! We had been taking our (very loved and adored) dog, Max to another veterinary practice in the area for years, but recently we were floored by a very high-priced quote for canine dental work. We contacted Dr. Stone to set up a second opinion visit, to which he was very accommodating and helpful; and we found that our needs in this situation did not necessarily warrant all the procedures that our previous veterinary practice wanted to perform. That being said, Dr. Stone was able to perform the necessary treatment, and he didn’t break the bank. Max, who is normally terrified to visit the vet, actually had a more relaxed demeanor in this facility. It feels like “home” and there is great love and care to his approach. Never going back – we have a new vet for life! Thanks Dr. Stone!!!

  45. Genesys S. says:

Dr. Stone is amazing. We are first time pet owners and his advice and expertise were a great comfort to us when our puppy became ill. We will definitely be coming back.

  46. Adam Rubman says:

Best veterinarian in the Clermont and groveland area. Makes you feel like family and you can tell he really cares about his clients. Very personal and your not a number he remembers all his clients human and animal by name. My dad found him about 4 years ago and he saves there German shepards . This is my family vet I will bring all my pets here.

  47. Erika Jordan says:

Dr.Stone is the most amazing Vet I have ever encountered! I have two dogs Mako & Lily and since moving to Groveland they have been under the care of Dr. Stone for their annual shots as well as when needed throughout the year. My dogs have been to many vets over the years but Dr. Stone is by far the most knowledgeable, sincere, compassionate, and honest doctor I have ever met. He will not try to sell you something you do not need and if you want a straight forward answer he will give it to you. And oh the best part is his costs are the most affordable I have ever seen as well. He does not put huge up charges on procedures like larger corporate facilities do and in the end my pet gets more cost effective care from an even better doctor. If you need a Vet or would like a second opinion for your fur baby he is the one to see! I would recommend him to everyone I know! local or from a far don’t miss out of giving your animal the best proper care they deserve. Go see Dr. Stone today!

  48. Betsy Harris says:

Dr. Stone repaired an ACL tear on our little Havanese. The day after the surgery she came home and now two months later she is walking and running like she used to. His cost for this surgery was more than fair, and much lower than other vets were charging. And Dr. Stone cost included everything: surgery, hospital stay, x-ray, all medications, plus 3 rehab sessions spaced 2 weeks apart. No additional fees. Thank you Dr. Stone

  49. Lee Johnson says:

Dr. Stone was so very kind, compassionate and professional in helping to stitch up our dog Tara who had a pretty bad tear of skin on the front leg. He does great work.

  50. Anita Phillips says:

After two attempts with another Vet my dog was still profusely bleeding from his mouth and Dr. Stone met me at his practice in the wee hours of the morning to diagnose Jake’s problem. I was in panic mode and after meeting with Dr. Stone I had a sense of comfort and sigh of relief that he could fix Jake! His knowledge and expertise and skills are amazing and I would highly recommend Dr. Stone to everyone! I wish I would have known of his practice in the beginning because I doubt it would have taken 3 tries to fix Jake’s mouth!! He would have done it right the first time!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Stone!

  51. Ruth Steckman says:

,Dr. Stone has been very good for our family. On Thanksgiving Day, he came to his office to save my son”s dog:s life, because he had eaten som poisonous sago seeds.he has also kept my two cats healthy and well for many years.Since I will be moving to N.C. I hope I can find a vet as competent and caring as Dr. Stone.

  52. Karen Lippert-Mosher says:

He took very good care of our Monty mending his leg back together with pins and a rod. Scott and I are Truly Forever Grateful to this Wonderful Caring Man/ Vet. He truly loves and Cares for Animals.💙🐾

  53. Angie G. says:

It was a late evening when my kitten needed help with her broken bone in her leg. I accidentally called Dr.Stone’s trauma center, he picked up the phone even though it was after hours. He gave me instructions on how to help my kitten before I can get her seen by a vet. He didn’t insist on me visiting his clinic but just helped me out.
Eventually I ended up taking my 12 week old kitten for the surgery to Dr.Stone.
First of all, he managed his schedule so that the surgery could be done the SAME day.
    2) he talked to me like I am a human not just another client. He didn’t brush off my concerns but helped me understand the issue.
    3) he explained me the surgery in details before it was done.
    4) he did a very good job on the broken bone even though it was a tiniest bone and hard to deal with.
    5) I felt my kitten was safe in his clinic and I stopped stressing out about her.
His staff was professional and his clinic is clean and cozy. I would recommend Dr. Stone for any issues with your pet.

  54. Dennis S. says:

Dr.Stone did a great job on my kitten’s broken leg. It has been a week now and she is almost fully recovered! Thank you so much!
    Dennis and Angie

  55. Monica says:

I called half dozen vets and no one had openings for days to see my sick dog who was throwing up and pooping blood. Dr. Stone took her that afternoon and gave her the meds she needed to get back to normal just a few days later. Thanks again!

  56. Rick and Diane Gutierrez says:

What a kind and knowledgeable doctor. He made us calm down and he treated our little Tonkinese with such care. All turned out well and it was the best Christmas present we could have hoped for. You are so blessed in this area to have such a wonderful vet who sees both owners and pets at their worst. Rick and Diane Gutierrez

  57. Kimberly Paulli says:

We had an appointment with Dr Stone today for my Cali she is an English Labrador retriever. She is limping on her hind leg for about 2 months now. Dr Stone evaluated and gave her an exam, she has torn the ligament in her knee and needs surgery to repair it. I cannot tell you how Dr Stone explained everything so thoroughly, and answered all my questions! Did not rush us out the door and on top of that did not charge us for a second opinion! I was absolutely shocked that there are people in the world who still really care and show that it’s not all about the money! He is truly a wonderfully compassionate Dr who shows his love for animals, and all his expert knowledge surrounding the circumstance ! Thank you again Dr Stone ! I will certainly recommend you to any of my friends and family !

  58. Matt Howard says:

Recently has an appointment for my dog. Dr. Stone and the whole staff are nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend this vet to all my friends!

  59. Ryan Entwistle says:

Fantastic service! He fit us into his busy schedule and treated us like family. Warm, friendly staff and professional veterinary care. I would highly recommend Dr Stone and happily return in the future.
